Let's Get Crafty

 Build Together...

Through Clay!

What Does This Mean?

Building something together can either be an at-home, DIY project or going to a business that sells builds that you can paint and chat. I mean, building is what got you a relationship right? We all have to build upon our relationship to keep the foundation tough and the pillars strong, and this is done through many ways like acts of service, dates, and other ways. The point is, that you are here together having fun while enjoying and inspiring what the other creates, and in the end, you get to have a physical reminder of the date that you can put in a safe spot to reflect on while relishing in a fond memory!

What Did I Do?

Kandace and I decided that it would be fun to go out and support some local businesses and chose a place out in Overland Park called Paint Glaze and Fire. Here, you can find many different-shaped pottery. From Harry Potter-themed trains to little gnomes, they have a wide range of selections. The best part, while this may be in a cafe-like setting, everyone is in their own bubble, so you don't even notice the people around you! When we arrived, I thought I was going to suck at this, so I picked an easy one to do, a cactus. In hindsight, it's not about trying to be good and making a masterpiece, but it's about having a genuine conversation with your partner and enjoying a fun activity together! While we were here, we got to learn more about how we thought in a creative process and have an enjoyable conversation about how we would design and create our own homes, from the colors to the layout. In the end, we left feeling satisfied with our creation and content with a new memory that and physical piece to remember it by!

Overall

This was a great place to have a date as it not only was good to support a small business, but it was a fun, memorable experience that anyone can do! It doesn't matter if you can paint to Mona Lisa or only do stick figures, this is a place catered to everyone! I give this a 9, just because it is a bit more on the expensive side but definitely well worth it!

I also made my little cactus into a pot and put a plant into it!
